The beach is located within Sätraskogens nature reserve. Mälarhöjdsbadet is a public communal beach which was built in the 1930s. It used to have a restaurant with an outdoor serving which doesn't exist anymore and the beach is 400 meters long. In 1969 the beach was renovated and hygiene facilities were installed. Despite the name it actually is located in Bredäng. In the summer usually it’s very crowded but it's still fun because there are jumptowers and you can buy food and drinks from a food truck that is there during the summertime. Most people go by car there but you can also use the bus 135.
Because it's a public beach its open at all times of the day.
